The journey to now.
Kim believes yoga and bodywork are means to being in deliberate relationship with yourself, which offers invaluable benefit for people of all walks of life.
Kim has been teaching yoga since 2007, successfully completed two, 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher trainings, as well as more than 1000 hours of continuing education and independent study in the areas of anatomy/physiology, therapeutic application of yoga, philosophy, meditation, and Thai Yoga Massage. Kim has earned ERYT-500 status through Yoga Alliance, indicating a high level of training, experience, and competence in teaching yoga.
Kim has taught at Glowing Body Yoga & Healing Arts in Knoxville, TN, since the studio opened in 2008, served as studio manager for several years, and eventually took ownership of the studio, along with Kelly Scott, in 2017. Kim has designed and directed 4 year-long yoga teacher trainings, with many program graduates moving on to actively teach in their communities.
Kim earned her certification in massage therapy at Asheville School of Massage & Yoga in September, 2018, and practices Thai Yoga Massage with private clients. Kim creates sessions to address aches and pains, with suggestions on how to carry over new movement patterns and self-care techniques into day-to-day life. Kim uses her understanding of movement and mindfulness in the teaching and therapeutic touch she offers, and will empower you to live better in your body.
Kim holds a Master’s of Science degree and has worked as a Speech Language Pathologist in hospitals since 2010. She continues that work on a part-time basis, and believes her experiences in healthcare lend to a balanced understanding of how we may influence our health for the better.
Kim is a mother to two young sons, an inconsistent rock climber, low-key hiker, and a perpetual beginner potter.
