Yoga Retreat to Italy

May 17th-23rd, 2025

Wherever you go, there you are.

That may be true, but sometimes, where you are influences you for the better.

Join Kim Lomonaco and Amalia Brusati Di Settala for just such an occasion. Move toward curiosity, inspiration, and self-realization by changing your surroundings, and engaging in mindfulness practices, away from the distraction of routine daily life.

Through the alchemy of enchantment abroad, and deliberate connection to yourself, you may end up feeling exactly where you want to be.

  • AMALIA

Amalia Brusati Di Settala is native to Italy and got her start in fashion in Milan, but shifted to culinary arts as a private chef and menu consultant for restaurants, as Ama Mi Kitchen.

Amalia has trained in multiple methods of yoga and began teaching in her new yoga home at The Glowing Body in 2023.

Amalia has been to Puglia every year for the past 20 years, including hosted her wedding at Masseria Mozzone in September 2022, and recognized it as being the perfect location for an intimate yoga retreat.

    KIM

Kim Lomonaco co-owns The Glowing Body, where she directs yoga programming and teacher training, teaches weekly classes, and sees clients privately for yoga and Thai yoga massage therapy.

Kim draws from 17 years of teaching to share effective and approachable techniques linking body, breath, mind, and heart. In her approach to teaching, Kim honors both tradition and innovation, the aspirational and the practical.

Kim and Amalia’s overlapping interests in creating transformative and memorable experiences has led them to co-design a retreat to Puglia, Italy.

  • Whether you step outside your front door, or journey across the world, the experience of traveling is more about your mindset than your location.

If you feel called to tap into the tools of retreat in order to catalyze shifts in your life, or to offer respite from routine, consider joining us on our trip.

Yoga is the perfect companion to travel, creating the conditions in which you more readily shift from "doing" to "being". Away from work, family, and social obligations, you can be free to use your surroundings as a form of meditation. Leverage the excitement, awe, and pleasure of a new place and culture to bolster your capacity for mindfulness.

Find community amongst your fellow travelers, enjoying the opportunity to connect with others through an intimate shared experience and discovery.

  • Journey to Puglia and arrive at Masseria Mozzone, a family operated farmhouse built in 1700, surrounded by olive trees.

White is the predominant color of the structural environment, including 12 bright and spacious rooms, creating the conditions for peace and tranquility during your stay. An outdoor pool is the perfect place to relax between activities and excursions, and the coastline with beaches is just 15 minutes drive away.

Masseria Mozzone is in Valle d’Itria, the region of the Trulli, a great location to explore Puglia with day trips to the coast or to beautiful towns such as Ostuni, Cisternino, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare and Monopoli. Excursions outside of the Masseria are highly recommended.

Please note: this is not a dedicated yoga resort. This location has been selected for it’s authenticity and history, as well as it’s lovely and intimate features, allowing for full appreciation of the region and the families who have resided here for generations.

    NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

Beach Towns: Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Savelletri

    Lidos: Archeolido, Ottagono, Il Santos

Inland Towns: Cisternino, Alberobello, Lecce, Grottaglie (the destination for ceramic lovers!)

    CLIMATE

The mid May is the perfect time of the year to enjoy Puglia, not too hot or crowded.

Expect mild temperatures, reaching the mid 70s during the day, and the mid 60s at night. A sweater is recommended for the cooler evenings. Rain is not common at during that time of year. The sea water will be brisk, but lounging in the sun listening to the water will be a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

  • GROUP YOGA

Kim and Amalia will lead you through daily meditation, breath, and posture practices, inspired by the sensory immersion of our surroundings.

Start your day with group meditation at sunrise, followed by an upbeat asana class before breakfast.

In the evening, you will be led through restorative yoga practice, with guided posture, breath work, and gentle hands on assistance to facilitate deep relaxation.

Yoga classes will be appropriate for all skill levels. No prior yoga experience is necessary, but we encourage you to consider beginning a practice before the retreat.

The retreat leaders will use WhatsApp as the primary means of communication with our group while in Italy.

    CONNECTIVITY

Please contact your cell service provider to determine applicable fees, restrictions, and coverage while you are traveling.

While WiFi is generally available at the host facility, no guarantees can be made regarding it’s functionality at the time of our retreat.

Retreat leaders and the host facility are not responsible for ensuring you have access to cellular service or WiFi.

We encourage making plans to unplug as much as possible in order to allow you to get the most from the experience.

    OCCUPANCY REQUESTS

We will do our best to honor your registration choice for occupancy and rooming arrangements. If we cannot fulfill the occupancy type that you selected, we will notify you 90 days prior to our trip.

At that time, you will be required to either cancel your registration, at which time our Cancellation Policy will apply, or you may upgrade your registration to another occupancy type (for example, from double occupancy to a single occupancy).

    TRAVEL INSURANCE

We STRONGLY recommend travel insurance. It is important to plan for the unexpected and to understand there are a number of reasons why your travel plans may need to change. Travel insurance can be affordable and protect you in the event of unexpected changes.

    Examples of travel insurance companies:*

    https://www.trawickinternational.com/

    https://www.csatravelpro.com/

*Please note, we have no affiliations with these companies and strongly encourage you to research for yourself to find the best option.

    GROUND TRANSPORTATION

You should carry an International Driving Permit along with your local license. You’ll need to show it if you get stopped by the police for any reason, including if you’re in an accident. It’s not a license, requires no test, and is basically a translation of your driver’s license. See: Transportation and Driving in Italy

There are many options for bus travel and train travel in Italy. Prices vary, but are generally affordable and convenient. See: Trenitalia for Rail Travel
